Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

1. Who we are

This policy applies to Elevator Mate Pty Ltd, trading as DeliveryM8 (ABN 27 633 778 382) ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of the ElevatorMate calculator and the DeliveryM8 website at deliverym8.com.

We are bound by the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). If you are located in the European Economic Area, the UK, or another jurisdiction with its own privacy laws, additional rights may apply to you — contact us to exercise them.

2. What information we collect

When you use the ElevatorMate calculator, you enter:

  • A delivery address (street address only)
  • Elevator dimensions (depth, height, width)
  • Door dimensions (height, width)
  • Item dimensions (depth, height, width)
  • Item type and unit of measurement

We also collect standard web server logs including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This information is collected automatically and is not linked to your identity.

We do not collect your name, email address, or payment information through this website unless you contact us directly.

3. How we use your information

The dimensions and address you enter are transmitted to our calculation engine (hosted on AWS in Sydney, Australia) to generate your result. They are used solely to produce that result and are not stored in any database linked to your identity.

We may use anonymised, aggregated calculation data (with no address or identifying information) to improve the accuracy of the tool over time.

Server logs are used for security monitoring, diagnosing technical issues, and understanding aggregate usage patterns. They are not used for targeted advertising.

4. How we store and protect your information

Dimension and address data submitted through the calculator is processed in real time and is not retained after your result is returned. No dimension data is stored in a persistent database.

Server logs are retained for up to 90 days and then deleted. All data is stored on infrastructure hosted within Australia (AWS ap-southeast-2, Sydney).

We take reasonable steps to protect information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.

5. Sharing your information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share information with:

  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) — our cloud infrastructure provider, used to host and run the calculation engine. AWS is bound by its own privacy and security commitments.
  • Law enforcement or regulatory bodies — if we are required to do so by law or in response to a valid legal request.

We have no other third-party data sharing arrangements in place.

6. Cookies

This website does not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies. We may use essential session cookies required for the website to function. No cookie data is shared with third-party advertising or analytics platforms.

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Request access to any personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information
  • Make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information

Because dimension and address data submitted through the calculator is not retained, there is generally no personal information for us to retrieve. For server log data, contact us with your IP address and the approximate date and time of your visit.

If you are in the EU or UK, you also have rights under GDPR / UK GDPR including the right to erasure, data portability, and to object to processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children

ElevatorMate is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information and we have not resolved your concern, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
